it's a nice toy but I most of the time I want to see ile Names, Size and Date Modified and not playing card wiht icons

looks like a Source(HL2 Engine ifydk)-Mod, honestly.
It's looking nice and all, but I'd rather like to have my stuff static and in folders. That's one of the main advantages compared to how people used to do their work.

imho, it's just a gimmick.

its a very interesting concept, but would not make for a particularly usable interface. It is very much reminiscent of Xerox's STAR OS (http://www.guidebookgallery.org/articles/thexeroxstararetro spective) where the interface was modelled as an actual desk... obviously BumpTop is a lot more shiny and nice looking, but still has similarities back to the very early days of GUI interfaces.

As fancy and fun as it looks to throw stuff around on your desktop, who will benefit from this type of desktop? I prefer the grid-like style and I would rather use folders than 'stacking' files.

Problem with piles is that's how people get disorganized. People search through endless messy piles on their desks, and lose stuff all the time. That's why they invented filing cabinets -- so you know exactly where your stuff is all the time, and it's not cluttering your desk. I realize this software has taken steps to make the piles more orderly, but I still think it's a bad idea, and will only lead to a more unorganized desktop. *shudders at though of people with a bajillion desktop icons*
